An MD school has asked me to list any and all life activities from the time I graduated high school until now -copying from AMCAS is OK.
I recently shadowed an old-school osteopath. Is it wise to leave this shadowing experience out?

yes it's a well known fact that MDs and DOs hate each other.

Do you have to list his name and credentials? You could put "Physician Shadowing/Clinical Observation, so and so practice, date/ hours" because it is still literally under that title. Personally, I would not want to list DO though.

Just an FYI (and I'm not a DO), but the term "osteopath" is considered a derogatory and outdated term that refers to practitioners in Europe who aren't medical doctors and only perform OMT.

I'm telling you this not because I love political correctness, but so you don't accidentally offend someone on the wards who you may need a letter from down the line.

Thanks for that. I will definitely handle this with care in case I'm called to talk about it while interviewing. Interestingly, this DO specifically called themselves an osteopath. It was clear they did not agree with the direction the AOA is moving.

There's a lot of them around in the old guard, largely in their 50s and 60s now.

It's funny, young people think the AOA is selling them out for one reason, old ones for another. Poor guys are like the US Congress of medicine.

Would you leave out work if you shadowed or volunteered with an RT or a CNRA or phlebotomist? Health care is a multifaceted field. If you list it, describe what you did and what impact it had and what you learned. If you look at elective catalogs at some med schools, they have acupuncture and other non-traditional practices available. If anything, you can spin this as showing your breadth of exposure. I would just make sure that you also have some serious hours volunteering or shadowing an MD.

That is a wise point. Thanks for your input, everyone.
