There is an enormous trend for schools to build sister schools...examples follow:

1) LECOM/LECOM-Bradenton
2) PCOM/PCOM-Georgia
3) Midwestern U. CCOM/AZCOM
4) ATSU/ATSU-Mesa

and more, but you get the idea..

Why is this so? This is out of pure curiosity...

have any of you guys received invites from both sister schools? i have an interview at pcom-ga and lecom-bradenton, but have yet to hear back from pcom or lecom (which are higher up there on my list). just curious if they have some type of policy...

I received invites from CCOM and AZCOM - so I don't think it should matter. 🙂

I'm from the south. PCOM-Ga invited me for an interview and I declined, but I think that PCOM is inviting regionally, so I'm not expecting an interview invite from PCOM-PA.

I'm thinking of applying to PCOM-GA as well....would this affect my chances at Philly?

While trying to push me to apply for PCOM-GA instead of PCOM, the health professions adviser at my university told me that PCOM-GA told her that they are trying to recruit students heavily from the appalachian region of North Carolina/Virginia, which makes sense since their mission is produce doctors that will serve underserved areas.

so we have 11 billion of the same thread going around?

Yes, if it is 2 years old. Oftentimes people are commenting on a thread that is 2 years old. It offers no benefit or relevance to much of anything.
