Has anyone seen those commercials for "The Ladder"? It's apparently a job searching site for 100k+ jobs. I was curious so I went on the site and a lot of pharmacy jobs came up in Florida alone, but after ~10 seconds the screen fades and it makes you register to continue. I'm lucky if I could get a 10/hour job now so obviously I didn't register. LOL I was just wondering if anyone else knows if this thing is for real. Like if health care providers could actually find legit jobs on something like that.

I haven't seen that before. It is probably just another ploy to get your money. I think craigslist is a good place to start. Back when I was looking for a higher paying tech job, I just registered with career builder. But, I had tons of staffing agencies contacting me- it was rather annoying. In the end, I was referred by a coworker to a mail order company that she worked at in addition to working at our retail store. I got the job there and worked there through the rest of my undergrad. When I applied to the hospital I work at now, they gave me a tour of the facilities and I ran into an extern there (tech) who knew me from the mail order place. I am not sure if he put in a good word for me or not, but I got the job. Sometimes, I think it is about who you know...sad, but true.

+1 and the higher up you go the more true this becomes.

So there would be an advantage in dating your classmates and knowing pharmacists

I know some girls in my class come from families where they have many pharmacists. If I knew them, I could find more positions later on, right?

More muscle means you're skinnier.

Girls are scared of "buffing" up, but it's really difficult and hard for girls to do that without taking a lot of hormone/etc supplements.

If you work out your muscles a lot, you'll have a really nice body. End of story.

I hate those wimpy girls who pick up the 2 lb. barbells and do a few things and that's the end of the workout. It makes girls look bad!

That's actually not necesserily true - look at Madonna, all muscle ( I read somewhere she works out 5 hours every day no matter what) and not such a nice body:

From personal experience - if you are delicately skinny - and you start working out on a regular basis, you loose all the curves you have even w/out buffing up. That's why I think there is no need to pass judgements onto other people. 🙄

I know one pharmacist at school who is almost 30 and she seems to be fairly skinny and she's really pretty too. I kinda wonder if she'll stay that way for a while. I checked her blood pressure one time since we were at a screening, and she wanted me to get more practice with it, and I noticed that her BP was about 30 points lower than my own.

Is that REAL? Or is that a doctored photo? They can do some amazing things with Photoshop you know 😀

I had a feeling you would agree with me because I remember you saying somewhere before on the big kids forum that you were fairly skinny yourself. There is a fine line between looking like a thin normal girl and looking like you are way younger than you should be or even rather manly like the above picture. I've seen Madonna on television and she may not look as severe as this photo but she does not look very womanly. It is not common for girls to become massive, but it's easy to get really 'cut' if you work out way too much.

 I've heard that somewhere before.

I like girls that look like girls. Women can have muscle and be strong, but I think of them as being "soft" to the touch. I cannot imagine laying next to a bulky mass of hard rock solid muscle unless I am laying next to a guy. Guys should have muscles like that, not girls. Is it wrong for me to think that?

I would say that it's normal. You are entitled to your own opinions, so it wouldn't be wrong unless you were generalizing based on very few observations.

No, I think the same way. I don't like the extremely thin girls, I like them to be a bit curvy and such.

Yeah exactly... there is a point of over doing it and this can happen to girls too even though they may not get as ripped as a guy. It's not my place to say what should or should not be... but I have a view of what I myself would feel comfortable looking like, and having ripped arms and being rock hard is not really what I'm after. I think abs are okay, but if you have like 8 percent body fat all over your whole body I don't think that's normal for a woman. I think 15 percent is normal correct me if I'm wrong I don't feel like looking it up I'm having a horrible day and I don't normally have really bad days. 🙁

Aw... I'm sorry you're having a bad day. I have had a lot of those during my first semester of pharmacy school, unfortunately. But it will get a little better and you'll just need some time.

The average man has 15 to 17% body fat, while the average woman is between 18 and 22%. Typical values for elite athletes are 6% to 12% for men and 12% to 20% for women.

Yeah it's okay it's really just my dad... one of his best friends from high school died today and he was only 47 so now he is freaking out. It's not a big deal but I'm just exhausted and I don't have my usual strong desire to do research. LOL

oh yeah and I was way off about the percentage.

I went to Dave and Busters for the first time ever yesterday. I felt like a kid again. It was amazing. Nothing like drinking and playing some good ol' fashion games!

I used to always go there when I was in undergrad! I haven't been in a while though 🙁 I'll never forget because we were drinking those lethal weapons things, then we had a walk the plank, a purple people eater, and a sexy alligator. LOL I got ill. But my boyfriend sat at the same exact game the entire time where you drop coins in and push them off the moving shelf because it gave the most tickets! All the little kids with their parents were trying to use the same game because he kept going in the prize store and getting Dave and Buster glasses and cups with the logo on them.

lol that sounds awesome! I didn't get a chance to play ticket games. I was having too much fun with the shooter and racing games.

You'd probably like our last night's clubbing FB pictures. 🙄

I didn't even see them until you talked about it, but it looks like you guys had fun 🙂

You sort of look like this girl I knew in high school, except she had blonde hair, and I thought she looked like Avril Lavigne when I first met her.

haha yeah they do. Do you play any games right now? What are some of your favorites?

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I thought I might answer

I used to play Counter-Strike, Half-life, Day of Defeat, Medal of Honor (all of them), Halo, Resident Evil, etc.

I downloaded a mod for Day of Defeat where I play against a bunch of AI bots. I turned the AI skills all the way up to the maximum and turned down the response time to 0.1 sec to 0.5 sec

👍 to the Counter Strike. I used to play religiously in high school when LAN centers were the fad. I played in many tournaments with my closest friends. Definitely miss those days. I have no time to play games like that anymore. 🙁

I used to play back in high school and also in college. We would also set up a LAN, but it was only when we played. I used to camp quite a bit  I guess you could say sometimes I was there long enough to set up a camp fire and roast marshmallows 😆

Lol camping is not something to be proud of. Those were the most hated players in CS.

haha yeah they do. Do you play any games right now? What are some of your favorites?

I pretty much will play anything. Right now I am stuck on Guitar Hero because I got two new ones for Christmas. I also like computer games like Guild Wars, Civilization, and Doom. I am down for any of the shoot 'em up games or driving games. I am also a champion at air hockey 😀

Lol Ive been wanting to get guitar hero and I also wanna try Dj hero.

You will get addicted to Guitar Hero. One time, I played so much that I got "tennis elbow" and was extremely embarrassed when I had to explain myself to the doctor. I had to wear a sling for 2 days.

I've been addicted to Guitar Hero, but it was never that bad

You know what's even more ridiculous? I looked up the notes my doctor put into the system and I had to LOL that she wrote in there that I played Guitar Hero too much and that I needed to "play Guitar Hero in moderation". That is forever on my patient record

So, I tried chat out and there was this weirdo cussing and saying gross things to me. Sorry to bail on you, bob.

It's understandable. I dunno if it's just me, but sometimes at parties and stuff, the girls complain to me about how some of the guys there are weird and rude. They won't say it to any guy except me. I wonder if that means anything

The next time we chat, I'll start a channel and send you a PM about what name it is (if you want). So if I made a chatroom called icecream, you would type /join icecream 😆

 I don't think I know what I have on my patient record. I've probably gone to more than 10 different doctors from moving many times, so I dunno what would have remained on my most recent record.

I'm at a party! Haha! (I remembered to be the loser who posts at a party 🙂. I'm watching beer pong. Fun!

Btw... Lourdes is super pretty!

I used to watch beer pong at huge parties and actually play when it was just with some friends. I used to play on the same team with a pretty girl and she would pressure me into trying to play well even though I wasn't very good at it. But I tried to do it just for her, but even then I didn't get any better. I always refused to drink any beer, so my friends drank them for me.

I personally think beer is so nasty. People say acquired taste and I asked about that one time, and it seems like they say it tastes bad the first few times, but you just get so used to it that the bad taste isn't so bad anymore. Sounds like adaptation of your sensory receptors
