Goljans RR Path is pretty awesome but has anyone use any of the other goljan books that are available?

1) Biochem
http://www.amazon.com/Rapid-Review-...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258844947&sr=1-3

2) Laboratory testing in clinical medicine

The description of the 2nd book (laboratory testing) makes it seems as those it can be used along side the RR path book? Anyone ever look at it?

RR biochem is a solid book. You should get it if you don't have a primary read for biochem or need a book to review.

As for the other book, it's not really relevant in my opinion. First of all, its only 200 pages or so, and most of the material he covers in the book are already covered in RR path. My advice would be to stick to one source aka RR Path and know it really well.

If I may, a follow up question. I feel like, due to our curriculum, at our school we haven't covered much biochem. Thus, I feel not too much better than post-MCAT level in terms of biochem.

Do you think RR biochem would be a good book to learn/review the materials for the boards?

i thought RR biochem was really good. However, my undergrad degree is in Biochem and i did well in biochem in med school. however, for the sake of the Step 1 im pretty sure RR biochem will cover everything you need to know. If not you can always use lippincott. Lippincot is alot of work for a subject like biochem. RR does a better job of going into the clinical aspect of biochem which i have been told is the majority of the biochem on the Step.
