Hi guys, want to know what you guys think of usmleconsult, usmle rx , and kaplan qbanks for step 2. Are any of these qbanks worth doing? I want to go through a whole bunch of questions so I can just learn from doing questions. Do any of you think its a good idea to do these qbanks? I knw UWorld is the best and I will do tht as well probably after I am done with one of these. I plan on using one of the other qbanks just for practice early on in my prep.

It did wonders for me in preparing for Step 1

Consult is riddled with errors. Goljan may have endorsed it, but that was a long time ago

I found Rx and Kaplan to be helpful with getting the basics down

(Kaplan did throw in a lot of "what the heck are these things?" kind of questions that were not explained in the lecture notes)

Then again, the real test seemed to have thrown quite a lot of "what is this?" type of questions as well.

And it wasn't something you could reason out... it was a very specific description of a disease process... that you could possibly eliminate 2 or 3 choices, but would have no other way of figuring out the rest...

bottom line, if you have lots of time and the money (or "resources"), go for it! Although it may be diminishing returns, you'll need those to get into the 250s 260s

So Have you already given step 2 CK?? I was asking about usmle consult and usmlerx for step 2. I also used rx for step1 and thought it was a fair qbank. Dont knw about usmleconsult for step2 and how tht is. Haven't been able to find any threads about these 2 qbanks for step2 on SDN so thats why I was asking for further clarification from someone who has a better idea about these 2...I have 2 months to prep for this exam btw...🙄

I've obtained Rx, Kaplan, and World for Step 2.

I'm a long ways away from taking the test though. However, I did do a few questions. It fits the First Aid and Kaplan material quite well.

Again, World have the LONG vignettes that demand multiple step thinking

Rx and Kaplan also have slightly long vignettes, but it's more of an identification of what they are talking about and then just give the next best step

All in all, the more clinical practice the better. It seems for the Step 2 questions, it's less about "what bizarre thing can I get you with" and more about do you know the proper steps in management?

(or so it seems to me, please correct me anyone else)

I also have the iphone/ipad applications for Pretest (same questions as USMLEasy)

The nice thing is the additional surgery questions, which UWorld only has a limited selection of

So Usmle consult for step2 is no good and filled with errors? Also I have the book First aid Q & A for step2 , does that also have many of the same questions as usmlerx? So is rx still worth getting? I was planning on doing all 4 banks (consult, rx, qbank, world) as prep since doing q's helps me more🙄....is that a good idea??😕
