well all i can say is that something fishy is going on at OU since they are still giving out interview invites for last years applicants-u can find this in the oucom app thread. i guess that's why they're busy?
 
Oh okay so are u going to call back or wait it out? I spoke to someone who goes to OU-COM and they told me to wait it out .
 
DK I don't think anything fishy is going on nessecarily, OU just increased their incoming class size from 105 to 140!!!

Think this could be it?
 
Yeah, bummer but I'm sure we are all very used to waiting. Hopefully next week we will know something.

i will try to give OU a call tomorrow and see what's the deal, as long as i'm not too busy. I'll let you guys know what they say.
 
Just got off the phone with one of the admission directors. She said that everyone will know by the end of this week!! Good luck, guys! Hopefully we all get some good news! Let me know!

guys i just got an email saying i was waitlisted. must have been alot of people with mcat scores.
 
Yeah man. Just got waitlisted too! She told me to email her my mcat scores when they post. So hopefully they are not bad ha
 
Make that the 3rd waitlist or "alternative" so to speak!
What do you guys think the chances of us getting in?
 
wow guys this sucks. no one from sdn to represent at the scholars program.
 
Well in the end it still means we are in the running , so let's all keep our heads up. Anyone see from past years people getting alternates then getting in or any news on how many alternates are choosen?

The good news is we weren't denied right? 🙂

Do people get denied or just made alternates?
 
People would have to get denied. 80-ish applicants, 24 accepted..not gonna put 60 on WL. Let's all be excited we still have a shot!
 
too bad the email didn't say what number on the waitlist you are. anyone call today and find out?
 
That's what I'm saying we ALL still have a great shot!

Also, they won't tell anyone where they are on the waitlist.
 
i don't know man its not like its a waitlist for a seat in med school its just a prep program which applied pretty late for actually. i'm not going to let it bug me any further. i'm gonna focus on more important things-like the MCAT

found this forum-got flat out denied-and im thinking maybe there were a lot of applicants whose economic situations were a lot worse. best of luck to everyone and study hard for that mcat!😱

talked to OU today. I guess I misspoke earlier, when I said that you will not be flat-out accepted w/o an MCAT score. They said that a pending MCAT is not a deciding factor. They also said that the competition for this year was rediculously above average---I consider myself lucky to have not been flat-out rejected. hope this helps!
 
Hey noofy :

Ds they comment on trends wether they expect some people not to accept the offer? Like do they usually dig into the alternate list?

Also being that we are even considered for the alternate should mean they are interested so that's great for us . Think about it they only have 22 seats and we are at least being considered !

I didn't ask if they usually get into the wait list. I've called quite a bunch so I don't think I will call and ask. But, yeah, that's my thought exactly...at least for their secondary, or whatever, we can put that we were waitlisted for their summer program. Should speak well to the fact of "why OU-COM"
 
it turns out that i'll be chillin in athens,OH this summer after all. i was selected a few days back.

i was called yesterday, it seems like DK got in a few days back. but, yeah man I'm sure you'll be fine. IMO, email Michelle and let her know that you are still very interested in the program, etc.. can't hurt. I did that and it seemed to work out! GL buddy, I'm sure you'll get in w/ us
 
hey noofy, do u think that we'll have enough enough time to devote to the app process in general during the program. its gonna be kind of tough sitting through all those lectures and studying for exams while filling out secondaries and staying on top of everything else that comes with amcas/aacomas apps.
 
dk - actually just talked to my advisor today about that..I'm not entirely sure how it's going to go down. I am planning on at least having primaries complete before we leave. then just try to do what i can. don't wanna do poorly there, studying is gonna take up most of my time there
 
dk - do you know when they said they will send specific information about the program to those accepted? such as, stipend amount, living, program details, etc..

Hey guys, yeah they sent me the forms this morning. I am def going.

as for my fiance, she is a RN and knows how import this is to me so she actually is very supportive which is great. Did it go okay with everyone elses significant others?
 
Only bad this is that I have a Bulldog , and will be getting rid of her unfortunately. haha
 
yeah, went well with mine. kinda sprung the news on her that I'll be gone for 5-6 weeks and it shocked her..then she realized how important it is. so all's good
 
Anyone know what the MCAT requirement is? Meaning what score is acceptable inorder to get an interview? I could guess at least a 27ish but just didnt know if anyone has heard a definitive answer?

Also, being that we are taking this by end of MAY....(MAY 20th for me ) are you guys planning on retaking it if you do not get the score you want?
