I just thought this was interesting:

The number of Americans over 65 will nearly double by 2030, and medical schools would have to triple their training of healthcare workers specializing in elder care to handle the surge in older patients.

(From Bottom Line Personal 8/15/08, referencing John W. Rowe, MD, professor of health policy and management at Columbia.)

Bring on the old folks!!

Yes its the "real" deal.. Good forcasting / anticipation.. [Its nice being ahead of the game, and too easy getting bogged down losing contact with reality]

Diseases like Dementia, CVAs, UTIs even hematuria, SIMPLE dehydration, etiology of cachexia, diminished motivation for physical therapy, decubitus ulcers are all A BIG DEAL here.👍
