Yeah we got they dumb empty black portfolio when we walked at our graduation.
They gave us the empty blue portfolio, then they gave us the diploma when we turned in our cap and gown!!!

👍
Any good deals? Where'd you spend it at?
Actually, we bought new family room furniture last year, and literally went to almost 20 stores before we found it. (We counted all we could think of this afternoon, and we got up to 15.) So, this year we just went straight to the store where we found it last year, which is generally considered a rather upscale local furniture store. They actually have some smaller-scale furniture, and some that is not too expensive. We walked in and got hooked up with a FABULOUS salesperson, who absolutely understood exactly what we wanted, loved the brand we mentioned, and was willing to tell us just where we should go for other pieces. After walking around for a while, she went off to pull some catalog pictures and prices for us. We were still deciding on just what size pieces we want (my new living room is 12x14, and the wall space is not expansive), when we saw a loveseat and chair that we didn't buy last year (it was a toss-up between two, and we chose the other one). Needless to say, since it had been there for another year, it was on clearance, and will be marked down even more later this week. The sales clerk said if someone buys just the sofa out of a set, it's really hard to sell the other pieces. So...I'm getting the loveseat and three chairs (what they had), and I'm very happy.
😍 Not cheap, but it will stay in our family for a long time, and it is good furniture, and it wasn't terribly expensive.
Later we were talking about bedroom furniture, which I also need, and decided to check out a place here called Furniture for a Cause, which sells new and used furniture, and benefits a local homeless center. I've bought stuff there before, and given them some stuff, and it's close to our house. I found a bedroom set there that I really liked, and we marked it as our benchmark ($1059 for sleigh bed, dresser with mirror, chest, and nightstand - pretty cheap). My husband noted the sticker on the back that said "made in Vietnam" and the saleman said it was called "Louis Phillipe." I also remembered that I had a coupon at home for 10% off for having given them furniture last year. We had to make a Sam's run just a while later, and walked past a bedroom set in there which looked eerily similar. Upon closer inspection, it was called Louis Phillipe, and had a "made in Vietnam" sticker on the back! There was one small difference in a drawer, it had different handles, and had two nightstands, but no chest, and was $1598!!! Gee, do I want to benefit SAMM Ministries or Sam's Club??? I'll be buying that furniture on Monday!
Ok, long story, but it was actually a really great day! Yes, I did get some great deals, and feel like I supported a good cause in the process!
