On reviewing questions, I came across QID 2320 which had a box before the question which states that it contains "outdated or inaccurate information" and to ignore the question. I can't figure out what is wrong with the question though.

It is osteosarcoma in a teenager who has some bone pain and they show a picture of an X-ray where they show an osteolytic lesion and Codman's triangle. It states that osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor in children. All that sounds right to me?

Yeah I've noticed this a few times. I don't really know because I can't see the question anymore since I reset the Qbank and it won't let me search for it. They have added some new questions and removed a few just in the past few months. I remember finishing the Qbank at the end of MS3 and then all of a sudden 3 more popped up and then like 7 or 8 more. Then when I reset the numbers started to go down.

They have also revised a significant number of questions. I'm on my second pass and I was expecting to remember a whole lot more than I am. When all of these questions seem new it's a good feeling, but then I get to the explanation and look at the bottom and see that the question was last updated on 7/4/13.

Agreed. I'm having to take a lot more notes than I thought I would for my 2nd pass.

Okay cool, yeah there was probably a minor error in that question. I was reviewing some questions I had already done on my last rotation, so since it was an old exam I still had access to the question.

I am glad that they are updating so frequently! Keepin it fresh 😉

Multiple osteosarcoma questions in the Qbank (as I thought you were referencing the other one I just took, QID 8772)...

I'm not sure what's wrong with the question OP noted... as the same basic information is present within 8772 (Osteosarc = most common primary bone tumor, Ewing's = 2nd most common)

Ah I think I may have noticed it. 2320 states that the ESR is normal. The explanation (in 2320 and 8772) state that ESR can (in 2320) or IS (in 8772) elevated in osteosarcoma as a sign of inflammation. Maybe that's why they've edited it?

I believe there is also a discrepancy on whether the area is tender or not. 2320 has the area as not tender, while 8772 states it is tender. Also, I don't believe osteosarcomas are found due to trauma as insinuated in 2320, rather they are more idiopathic as in 8772.

Ah good catches. It makes sense that ESR can or cannot be elevated.

Doesn't look like the question changes much in terms of general concepts that they would likely test on it.
