Do you guys think it takes up too much time to outline everything? It takes me like 2 hours to outline 1 chapter. Is this too much time, or am I just over thinking it?

is that including reading through the first time? or outlining after having read through it already? i don't think it should take 2 hours to outline 1 chapter of KBB, theres like 10-12 pages per chapter (for bio at least)

Haha.. what good timing. This is what I did..

And yes it takes too much time (6 months for me) but if you have the time, go for it. From all that extra time, I feel like I now know everything that I have learned and ever will learn during my bio undergrad.

yes it takes up too much time. but do whatever works best for you. for me, i just highlight (sparsely...not the whole page lol), underline, circle, and write notes in the margins and this is quicker and more helpful for me personally. whatever path you choose, just make sure you got the concepts down before moving on to the next section 🙂

You do what works for you. I'm doing the same thing right now, and it takes me a good hour+ to write down my notes on each chapter...I try to cut down the pages in Cliffs or KBB to half when i write my notes.

I'm really OCD though, so I'm sure somebody could cut out what they already know...I just like typing I guess.

I made flashcards online for the Bio portion for both Cliff's and KBB.

For the GC and OC portion for KBB, I try to limit and summarize all chapters to at least 2 pages...usually takes me one hour for each section when I go back and write notes.

It took me about an hour to read and write notes per chapter of KBB and Cliffs. I eventually tried to hasten this by typing them on the computer and then just filling in details as I read the same subject out of the other book. I am also creating electronic flash cards of my notes!
