Let's say I had a 3.6 gpa and a 29 mcat (average, right?) and applied to about 6 or 7 med schools that aren't top notch like Duke or Harvard, what's the chance of getting into at least one of the schools? In your experience how many schools did you apply to, what were your scores, and how long was it till you got in?

Depends on the EC's. If you have really good ones that stand out on your app, then a decent chance. If you have run-of-the-mill EC's, you would have a pretty slim chance. The numbers just aren't that competitive.
