hey- question for all of you
I've always had a problem of tremors under pressure. But when i'm alone i'm fine.
for example, the first time i gave someone a PPD my hands started quivering, and had to deftly use my other hand to steady it while administering it. when i play poker, and have a huge hand, my hands start shaking; its a terrible tell for the people sitting next to me so i always sit on them.
but when i'm alone, theyre fine. i've practiced giving saline injections to myself with stolen insulin needles and don't have a problem at all (they were all sterile)
i sometimes go to the first year cadaver lab and "do surgery" and again, i'm able to navigate the circle of willis without a big problem. i even bought and play "Operation" and do pretty well at it.
did any of you have what im going through, and how'd you get over it? for now, i just tell myself to calm down, close my eyes, count to three, and get at it with super-concentration, and it helps a lot. but i'm afraid that this method might not work when an attending surgeon is over my shoulder one day.
any tips?
appreciate it.
