Overseas PharmD
Started by texas110477
If you already have a PharmD and not a BPharm you take the FPGEE, which is a foreign equivalency exam that is harder than the NAPLEX (from what I hear). You might have to take the TOEFL (english proficiency exam) and have 1500 intern hours before you can be licensed. Every state is different, so check with the board in the state where you want to work, but these are general reqs to get a license.
I have no idea what foreign medical students have to do for licensure.

Where did you get your PharmD if I may ask? I know most countries have a Bachelors program and then you can do a masters if you want, but so far the only ones with PharmD per say that I know of are the states of course and pakistan I think. Just curious.
I was just curious, I do not have a PharmD, I think there are some programs starting up like the carribbean, so I was wondering would it be a hard transition to work in the states if you had a pharmd overseas.

I read the sample of the FPGEE; I don't think it's harder than the NAPLEX, just much more flavors/topics, like PCol, MedChem, Pharmacoepidemiology, etc...those that we take in our P1/2/(3???)

You have a pharmacoepidemiology course? We don't and I think a lot of other schools don't either. I think that'd be interesting to take. There's always the option of studying it for independent study, but I don't really wanna do that .

Yes. And of approximately 90 pharmacy schools in the US, what schools don't have a pharmacoepidemiology course? (obviously your school is one.)
There's always the option of studying it for independent study Depending on the school
We talked about epidemiology but it wasn't an unique course.
What is a unique course?
It wasn't a course by itself. It was just integrated into the curriculum. What is a unique course?
UIC has a lot of business classes compared to other schools. Each school has unique features.
Epidemiology was integrated into our public health class, which was quite atrocious.
Same here...👎Epidemiology was integrated into our public health class, which was quite atrocious.
