I did a quick search and didn't find anything specific regarding student's thoughts on various grading practices. PCOM has been my first choice school for some time, but i'm concerned class ranks and grades makes the experience more stressful and competitive. If anyone can offer their thoughts on this I'd really appreciate it. A huge part of me really wants to go to a P/F school (and i realize it's purely a mental thing and won't lighten your work load). Thanks!

All schools will give you a class ranking. Even if they are P/F, your numerical averages are noted and used for class ranking.

no one really cares at PCOM. You are only competing against yourself and with scribe notes everyone has the same material so there really is no way to screw someone else.

there is no GPA or class rank at UMDNJ. Our grades are Honors, High Pass, Pass, Low Pass, Fail (A, B, C, D, F). As a result, there is no competition when you get here. all of the students work together, answering questions, putting together review sheets, and more.

The administration feels that you competed to get here and that now you are colleagues and there is no need for further competition.
