I have a question about the admission process for PA school.....Does anyone think that I should get a B.S in Medical Technology or a B.S in Respiratory therapy to aid in the admission in PA school? ......I am very very very very confused! 😕

Either one of these are good backgrounds for PA school - but are also good careers. I was a Medical Technologist for 4 years before going to PA school. The experience I've had is definitely helpful when it comes to laboratory medicine -which is one area that a majority of my classmates can find confusing or don't have a lot of knowledge in. But having the Med Tech degree doesn't give a lot of patient contact- unless phlebotomy is involved. Patient contact is also important when applying to PA school.

agree with above, however r.t. is a better fit overall due to the significant increased clinical hrs vs clinical lab folks..

thanks everyone....looks like i will start out as an rrt!
