After looking at quite a few programs and looking at their requirements, I've noticed they vary from school to school. For example, PCOM requries 6 credits of math/statistics while Philadelphia University only requires 4. There are also some differences in the amount of credits for various courses for different programs. So, with that said my question is how exactly do these schools look at your transcript? My freshman year I did horrible in calc and got a D...never bothered retaking it since I didn't have to, but I also took statistics and got an A. Both courses were 4 credits, so I'm just a little confused as to what these schools would look at, specifically Philadelphia University since they ony require 4 credits of math/stat. For instance, when a school program says, "Ordinarily achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 in all required courses, including sciences." does this mean the required courses needed to get into the program or every undergrad course taken?

Another question is how does CASPA calculate GPA? What courses do they include/exclude? Do they average re-takes (i.e. if I got a D then an A in the same course, do they average that out?)

Sorry for the questions, I'm just not too familar with CASPA and how PA schools look at the required pre-reqs.

CASPA will average all work attempted. So if you had a D and an A in the same course, the GPAs are averaged, not replaced.

Multiple courses are handled differently by schools. I had 6 psychology courses in undergrad; my school required 2 courses, so they picked two that I had made a good grade in to use in my package.
