just wondering if anyone knew how many people were going to be on the waitlist for the fall 2006 class? did they waitlist everyone that was not accepted? i know its ranked, but just want to get a feel for my chances... thanks

my interview was 1/28, havent heard anything yet...when was your interview? did anyone get any responses yet from the 1/28 interview?

I am waitlisted too. Received the letter today (Interviewed on Jan 21). They will give the ranking of waitlisted candidates in March end. 🙁

snail mail ... by observing the acceptance posts, i'm guessing that the ones who were accepted got a call, then recieved something in the mail ... i interviewed 1/21 as well

Has anyone who interviewed recieved a rejection? I guess I'll assume my waitlist (or rejection) letter is sitting in my mailbox.

When I interviewed, the dean said he expected a lot of movement from the waitlist because people who were accepted had not sent in their deposit.

I got a fone call first in Dec., and then received mail package in Jan.
I have confidence in their program and adminstration... you guys shouldn't worry.

If this is good news to any of you on the waitlist, I'm going to withdraw my acceptance and goto a school closer to home 🙂

Where did you hear this?? It is my understanding that if a school starts classes before precandidate status is acheived, then they must skip pre-candidate status and try to qualify for full-candidate status instead. There is precedent for this, but it wouldn't be good news. 🙁

Before the 01/21 interview, dean did say that they have to prepare waitlist and thats why they are interviewing more people then they should but there was no mention of alternate list....no mention in waitlist letter also.

Pacific is very transparent about their admission procedure...therefore unless someone has received a letter saying that they are on alternate list, I am thinking it is not true.

ok ... i am totally confused now ... i thought that the waitlist was the only thing.... i never heard of an alternate ... my letter stated that i will be given a number by email on march ... saying that i am on the "wait list". is this better than the alternate or did the alternate get numbers already before the wait list people???

Well, just wanted to add my name to the waiting list. I also was at the 1/21 interview and received the infamous waiting list letter. However, I havent heard of any "alternative list" for pac.u but also havent heard of any rejections for the people that had a interview. I just hope the waiting list isnt too long. Good luck to everyone.
By the way I know someone asked in a previous forum if I was the person from Jacksonville,fl during the 1/21 interview. Well, I am. If you were the person that asked please reply. I met a few people during that time and am horrible with names. So, if you are reading this, let me know so we can keep in touch.

I highly doubt PU will give any rejection letters.

No brand new school will give out a rejection letter unless the candidate just outright sucks

Many people will drop out in July as they get accepted into established schools

This happens at all new schools

Don't get too excited over your "Welcome to the Waitlist Letter"

"To answer your question, we did rank a small number of students as
alternates. This is to ensure for a full class through the invitation
process. If a certain number of accepted candidates do not accept their
invitation, the alternates will be invited in their place. In the event

I recieved my letter in the mail about a 5 weeks ago, I think. It was the same time that everyone got letters for waitlist or alternate. I was not on the waitlist first, I was only on the alternate list. I have only moved 1 place since I recieved the letter and that was a few days ago.

I got my waiting list rank today, if anyone else is waiting.It is in high 20s.

The letter was dated Mar 28th and its says I am on their alternate list now.

Do I have a chance ? Should I keep any hope ? Any one has any thoughts ? 🙁

Twenties is just way to high for me...I don't think a forth of the currently accepted students will drop out....but on the osu thread..they said last year. Osu granted acceptance to all their waitlisted people...so who knows..maybe schools in oregon will have something in common. Most likely not.
