MGH took one a few years ago... but you really have to stand out in general as an internal medicine applicant --- have done some research in pain, have done a TON of electives in pain-related relevant stuff...
but it is an upward battle for the internist to get an acgme approved spot.
I don't for certain, but I speculate it would be whichever governing board
(ABA, ABPMR, or Neurology) that the person registered through.
If there are any Internists out there who have completed pain fellowships and taken the ABA boards, I would be most interested to find out the answer to this question.
