All the threads on palm vs pocket pc seem old last post 06. Is anyone planning on purchasing either? I am shopping and wondering which is the current best choice.

Things I am looking for

Wireless internet capability

Ability to run excel, possibly powerpoint

I would seriously consider getting a smartphone instead with palm/pocketpc capabilities. Assuming you already have a cell phone (who doesn't?) it will be just one less gadget to have to carry around.

As a computer tech, I have found that those who purchase palms and pocketpcs almost always switch to a smartphone.

I had a Pocket PC but switched to a Palm. They both have excel/ word and both can have wireless capabilities. I switched to the palm because I heard there is more medical software available for the Palm OS.
