FA mentions that cancer of pancreatic head can compress common bile duct leading to jaundice but can it also compress the pancreatic ducts to cause pancreatitis? (esp given that it arises from pancreatic ducts).

Yes, since main pancreatic duct joins common duct at the major papilla.
In Ca head of pancreas as well as in Periampullary Ca both the ducts get involved.
