Hi everyone,

I think this community is a great tool for pre-pharm/med students, and just want to say thanks to everyone who contributes and keeps it up and running.

I have an interview with UBC pharmacy coming up, and am wondering if will be a panel interview or a one-on-one setting? I emailed the recruitment officer, but haven't gotten a response yet.

Has anyone had panel interviews for pharmacy, and if so, how did you find it? Can you share any interesting tales from your experiences?

Last question...Would wearing a a suit be a bit much? Are pharmacy interviews as formal as med interviews?

Thanks for all your feedback.

Hi,

I don't think it really matters what you wear (in good taste) because the interviewers are there to get an understanding of who you are. A black suit would be good. I wore a dark navy suit to my interview with UBC. I had my interview at the beginning of June.

I was just wondering, is this your first interview or second interview at UBC for the Pharmacy program? I ask this because UBC told me there would be second interviews after the first one was completed. Also, my interview was with two people of the faculty and they pretty much just ask questions and write down the responses. I found the interview pretty easy going. At first I felt a bit nervous, but that is a natural response. After the first question it was smooth sailing. You'll do fine. Good luck.

Hi Stringer,

Thanks for the insight. This is my first interview. I pressume the early June interviews were for students who were very high on the short list. This round of interviews coming up (June 27, 28, 29) is for students who are probably going to be put into the waitlist, or by some mircle, make it in.

My sisters friend was accepted last year, and she did not have to go through a second interview. Her interview was also during the first week of June last year. Hopefully your first interview went well and you have nothing to worry about!

I noticed that your interview was a year ago. Can I still ask whether the interview is pretty much a "make it or break it" deal. It is as stressful as people say it is? Thanks so much 😕
