Paramedic Grades

just a quick question, when applying to medical schools, my grades from the CC where did my paramedic program get figured in at all....I doubt they would but it would be nice.

I believe that if you attended COLLEGE for paramedic school and actually got grades that it must be reported per AMCAS rules. Hmm...here's another quesiton: would they all go under "health"?

Or do I remember that part wrong? (the "ALL grades from EVERY college or university attended MUST be reported" part)

Nope, you remember correctly... but I don't recall what I listd my courses as...health I suppose...

hmmmm.... I never would have geussed that they would, My paramedic program was 64 credits I believe, will this get factored in to my overall GPA or is it in some kind of seperate section?

I did TMDSAS, so not sure about amcas. But mine definitely factored into GPA.

My paramedic grades were not included in AMCAS. It was not taken at a community college though (in a hospital). so i'm guessing that if it is through a community college and you were awarded credits then yes......they would be included.

It will be in the overall GPA.

ditto on TMDSAS - most (if not all) of my paramedic credits counted toward science hours. it was sweet. 👍

On TMDSAS, AMCAS, and AACOMAS, my paramedic credits did NOT count as science hours.

They were considered to be under allied health, which are non-science courses.

I suppose it depends on how they were credited on your transcript.

my hours might have been categorized under allied health, not science - i don't remember. i was just glad they counted. (medic school was a lot of work - 2 years of full time classes!)
