Paranoid about my transcript -- services available?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I am a non-traditional students, with a BS and MPH. I finished school in Canada (I'm dual) so there are no premedical advisory committees. Given my medical issues, I had interruptions and had to withdraw from courses. I finished courses after graduating (part-time) and now am taking more courses to boost GPA (5 full year courses).

However, I am paranoid that there are too many scars on the transcript. Is it possible to get it evaluated by someone with admissions experience?

thanks
Post your grades
Let it flow, son

I can't directly answer your question, maybe someone else on this forum can. That said, it seems as though you ought to evaluate whether or not it is your true goal to become a doctor. If you do some soul searching and realize that medicine is your passion and you can't imagine doing anything else, then it won't matter so much whether your 'scars' will set you back - you will try your best anyway.

You may find that your best can just be kicking butt in EC's and essays and telling a compelling story about your experience and explain your spotty record. You may find that your best effort will lead you to completing a post-bac program and doing really well.

I guess my question to you is, why do you need to be evaluated? Put together the strongest application you can given your experiences and skills, and apply broadly and early. Kill the MCAT, stand out in your essays. Establish residency in a state with many in-state medical schools (FL, MI, NY...) If you really want to be a doctor, there is a way to make it happen - take a look at the thread about people's first acceptances, there was a recent post about a student who applied three times and has now been accepted to a medical program 🙂

Oh, I know my GPA is "ok" (3.5) but that includes ALL of my grades, some of which were completed after my degrees and were in non-science courses.

I am mostly worried about my transcript length (medical+financial issues) and the delays.

I know a 3.5GPA +33MCAT are competitive. It's the overall picture of the transcript issues that worry me.
How many Ws are present on your transcript?
What's your sGPA?
What are the names of the classes you are currently taking?

I believe I have five Ws? Four of them for one year where I had emergency surgery. It was too late in the year and making up the term work would have extended things further. The University said it's the only decision
I am very sure your past medical issues explain these transcript flaws. I have known of applicants battling cancer and all sorts of unforgivable conditions with the same number of withdrawals that have been accepted.

around 3.36 or so.. I am taking two sciences courses no to bump it up.
ouch :scared:

What are your extracurricular activities?

the 3.36 is low and it's unfortunate since I took a lot of geology courses but they weren't counted as BCPM. Otherwise, it would be higher. If I take 12 credits of science courses this year, it would increase to 3.45 or so.
