Who knew the application process would give me paranoid schizophrenia!!!! I just know the mailman and my roomates are throwing away my mail from medical schools and somehow there is a block on my email.

I've developed obsessive-compulsive disorder myself.

My mailbox was open when I checked it yesterday (it has a lock on it), and I was expecting a letter from a school....maybe they're out to get me, too! :scared:

i moved last weekend.

i set up the change of address with the psot office in advance, updated my address with AMCAS, and sent e-mails and letters to every med school. still, i feel sure they all sent interview invitations to my old address right before i changed it and the psot office didn't forward them and my bitchy old landlady is throwing out all the mail that comes for me.

i have called my former neighbor three times to check my old mailbox.

sometimes i feel like i'm going insane.

check e-mail.
refresh.
refresh.

All of the above apply, and add severe depression too...

I'm cutting down on the compulsive e-mail checking, though. The disappointment of seeing an empty in-box or one filled with junk mail, is starting to get to me.

I know, it's ridiculous, I have had 5 interviews, and somehow I'm still depressed!!!

No kidding....my neighbors are getting a little tired of the screaming tantrum I throw everytime I open my mailbox to nothing but coupons and credit card applications.

I have 12 interview offers, and I'm still miserable. I feel like all I do is check email and wait for the mail and I have a headache from it like everyday.

Why are we all so insecure? No one will listen to me whine anymore because they all agree I have no reason to whine but I'm totally out of motivation to do anything besides obsess and wait. Its horrible but hopefully it will end soon.

haha dockev.....

you got it made man. 12 ints. that is sweet. thats an automatic bid to the probowl.

well hopefully you hear from one of your top choices soon so that the rest of the year you can just look forward to attending a school and preparing for it.

chill.....to the next episode.....

Now might be a good time to lower your expectations a little.

Kevin, 12 interviews?! You rock.

Man, you know what I've been doing these days? I'm paranoid that my email isn't working, so I'll use my other email accts to email myself...just to make sure. This is so sad. As soon as my top choice gets back to me, then maybe I'll calm down a bit.

for two days, i didn't get any spam e-mails. i freaked out and e-mailed the system administrator "I THINK MY E-MAIL IS BROKEN AND I'M SURE I GOT SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT, BUT IT DIDN"T COME THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

they pretty much told me to settle down and that i had no evidence that my e-mail wasn't working. the relief i felt at receiving a "meet hot girls" e-mail was exquisite.

another huge irritation to me is spam e-mails with subjects including the word "congratulations". they just make my heart stop and then i get so fired up that they are not from med school. and as i'm sure you know, pretty much all the spam e-mails start with congratulations.

"congratulations... you've been selected to buy our printer cartridges"

"congratulations... you can buy a ticket to Hawaii"

"congratulations... 1600 hot women are waiting for you"

i hate you all+pissed+
