7 years ago (I was 16 y.o) I suffered from Paraphymosis. My brother and I tried to get it under control with no avail -- since it was late in the afternoon we figured it would go away by the morning. Had we known what the condition was, I would have been rushed to the hospital.
The next morning, I decided to go to school. While in school the pain was so much that I had to call home to be picked up. As soon as I got home, my brother took me to the hospital. After we explained what was wrong with me in the ER, they took me in almost immediately. A few minutes later a young MD (MD I think or perhaps a PA!!) came in and told my brother that they will have to cut the skin open to release the blood and that everything should be fine!!
When they were done with the cutting, I felt relieved and thought the pain that accompanied my relief was due to the recent semi surgery I just went through. The cut was only to relieve the pressure it was not a circumcision still today I dont know why I wasnt circumcised as a neonate.
Fast forward, the pain lingered for another 6 years. I had to wear socks around my penis to minimize shock and friction from my jeans, slacks and underwear. Luckily, for whatever reason this did not stop me from sexual intercourse. During intercourse the pain would totally vanish. Right after, I would have to wrap the gland penis back up like a mummy. With no health insurance, I couldnt really seek the help of a doctor and the few that I was able to visit told me that the only remedy would be to get circumcised.
Last year I was finally able to get health insurance through my job and was able to visit and doctor and set an appointment for my long awaited circumcision. After living with in that condition for over 5 years, my anticipations were quite high. I couldnt wait for the surgery. I would compare it to an undergraduate receiving his/her acceptance letter to medical school.
The day finally arrived. My brother and sister were waiting for the post op news as they would if I was a female in labor. The doctor came out and told my sister that I had one of the worst infections he had seen (due to not being able to pull back and clean) and that once it is clean all the pain will go away within a few days and normality would return.
It has been 16 months now and the pain is 100x worst then it was before. Two years ago, I at least had the fore skin to protect the gland penis from friction. Now it is bare and even the slightest of wind pains me. Sexual intercourse is no longer. Strong wills and faith are keeping me from depression.
I saw a doctor this year -- he prescribed some anti depressant thinking that could be the cause. He also told me that I would be referred to a "nervalogist?" (I thought it was neurologist) if the prescription didnt work -- needless to say, the prescription didnt work, he never did the referral and totally stopped taking my calls.
I know this is a long passage but I needed to voice and see if you guys can suggest something. This is not my personal statement. I am not even a pre health profession student. I am however counting on your knowledge to help me though this matter. I think you guys in advance.
QUESTION:
After it happen I sought help within 24 hrs. I need to know if hypersensitivity is due to nerve cell damages and can that be tested for? Could that be the cause of such pain? And can it be repaired if it is the cause? I do know neurons cannot be repaired but I have seen images of guys piercing large size holes in their penis and I am sure they are not suffering like I am.
