My parents are considering co-signing a private student loan for me in undergrad.

Once I graduate from undergrad...
...will my parents (the co-signer) still be responsible for paying back the loan,
OR...will the responsibility of paying back the loan be mine?

Also...I'm wanting to go to dental school. So...since I don't have any credit history of my own, how will I end up paying for dental school?
Will my parents need to co-sign a private loan for me in dental school too?

I just want to make sure that even though my parents are co-signing for me, that they will never be responsible for paying the loan back as long as I can pay the loan back once I'm out of dental school.

the cosigner is just as responsible for the loan as you

If for some reason you stop making payments or get sick or pass away, your parents are responsible for the loan as co-signers. Can you start a credit history? Do some research on building credit.
