Hey Guys,

I am applying from New York and would ideally like to attend either NYU or UMDNJ. I have scheduled by part 1 exam for end of july this year. Is it still realistic for me to apply for Fall 2011 ? I know UMDNJ needs both part 1and part 2. What about NYU ?

Any other suggestions on how I should go about my examd and the application process ?

I applied in late December to NYU, finished up the whole procedure around the mid/late Jan 2010, and I am already invited to interview for them on the 25th of feb.. though I am thinking of cancelling the interview. So if your stats are good, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't be able to get in the application for fall of 2011. Good luck,.

@ Zdentist, you should be in very good shape for applying to schools for class starting 2011, if t=you finish part 1 by july..not only NYU/BU which have late deadlines but you should be able to meet the deadlines of CA schools as well, if you are interested to go there.


@bombshell, why are you cancelling the interview? Did u get accepted to other school?

Hi dr37,

I got in BU... So I made my mind that if NYU accept me I will still end up doing BU (2years over 3 years). I am still hoping for Uconn though... but hms, i am on tourist visa, not a resident/green card holder so i am not sure if i can get in the 5 seats for this year. We'd see.. Anyways, my family and I are glad to be part of BU.... Uconn will simply be cheaper option for me, since i won't have to pay for housing and the living expenses will be smaller.. what about you, Dr 37? Got in a Univ? Good luck to all of us!

90/toefl 109/gpa 3.96
work experience in ortho and endo for 1 year in Bulgaria (home country), no experience in USA
I think it was the overall view of me that they liked... I don't know.. I surely know that they don't really go only for the results...
