I plan to be a part time student for one quarter due to scheduling conflicts amongst other unavoidable circumstances. How "bad" would that look on my application to med school? Thank you

If you're doing something important, like working a relevant and interesting job, dealing with a serious, documented illness (yours or an immediate family member's), or saving the president from terrorist nazi ninjas, you're fine.

Alright, so is it likely that I will be asked about this during an interview?

I would think so. I've not been through the process yet though so don't listen to me.

No. Too many people to pick out a single half-time term.

And if you do, whatever. Just do well on what ever you do take.

Yeah, at an interview you will be treated like an adult and if you needed to take part time for some important reason then do it. If asked about it, hopefully you can explain what was up. Be sure to remember things like health insurance and other stuff (athletics, student benefits) you might lose by going to part time.
