Title of Study: Young Adult Perceptions of the Impact of Parental Loss During Adolescence on Their Lives Today

Alana J. Kingsley at Adler University is currently seeking interested individuals to participate in a research study to understand the perspectives of young adults who experienced the death of a parent during adolescence. This study aims to explore the views of young adults on how this early loss has impacted their transition into young adulthood.

Who is Eligible?
· English speaking, young adult (18-35 years).
· Participants must have experienced the death of a parent during their adolescence (12-18 years).

What Will You Be Asked to Do?
· Participate in a face-to-face or phone, audio recorded interview to describe your experience of parent death during adolescence.
· Interviews may last between one and two hours; follow-up questions may be necessary.
· Your participation is voluntary, and you have the option to stop the interview at any time if you choose.

Risks and Benefits
· Risks may include distressing thoughts, memories, or feelings related to your experiences.
· Benefits include sharing your experiences and providing insight into the ways in which young adults perceive parental death during adolescence impacts them.

If you have any questions or are interested in participating, please contact: Alana J. Kingsley at [email protected] or 847.337.6563 for more information. This research is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Janna Henning, Dr. Joshua Wolff, and Dr. Katy Barrington, Dissertation Co-Chairs.
