pass/no pass

nah, they don't count the credits. it's like the class never existed.

It isn't counted in the gpa at all. You do get the credit though.

Does anyone know if taking pass no pass impact your med school application?

You certainly can't take any prereqs that way. I would take as few as possible, but a random, non-science class taken will probably have little impact.

There are situations where it's ok though. For example, my entire study abroad was pass/fail, and that posed no issues (though I didn't do any science classes).

I would try to avoid pass/fail unless the course requires it. As mentioned above, most likely one non-prereq will not make any difference, but the reality of it is that taking a class pass/fail in most cases means you either wanted to be lazy with the class or you bombed the first test. And I'm pretty sure adcoms know that when they see it on a transcript. (Obviously there are other circumstances sometimes though)

Ummm... What? Are you thinking of auditing a class? Taking a class P/F most definitely counts the credits while not affecting your GPA.
