Hi everyone,
I have passed the NERB and NBDE I/IIs, but will not receive my diploma from dental school until May. Are there any work options with these credentials before graduation??? Specifically, would it be legal to fabricate night guards and bleaching trays for profit? Thanks in advance.

You need a dental license from the state that you live in. In the end that's all that matters. NBDE, dental school diploma, and regional boards all lead to you getting a state dental license. They don't mean anything on their own. Until you get a license, you cannot legally practice dentistry without the supervision of a licensed dentist.

You could always get a job working for another dentist as a dental assistant fabricating appliances, night guards, and bleaching trays in the lab, but making the diagnosis and providing treatment can only be done by a licensed dentist. I'm honestly kind of surprised that someone could be months away from graduating and not know the limitations of dental practice.

how long does it usually take to get a license from state after you have submitted all the documents?

Depends on the state, but from what I understand, 4-8 weeks
