Hey friends ......
I just got my part 2 score that i had appeared for on 4 , 5 june 2009.

Got part 1 score 87 (raw score 312/400) , Part 2 score 86 (raw score 397/500) , TOEFL 111. 😀
Had been waiting for long time 2 finish wid boards ...... Now hoping that destiny gets me acceptance at some university.

Thanks a lot to SDN & all d people who had been posting their experiences here. It helped me immensely. I'll stay in contact & try 2 give back whatever little i can thru my experiences.
All d best 2 everyone. :xf:

Hey Ashu,

Congratulations on your success!
Could you tell me what all materials you referred and how long you prepared for the exam?
I am also preparing for part 2. It seems like a vast ocean before me.:scared:
Anyway, good luck with your future. You will soon get into a dental school 👍.

Thanks.

Material i referred was same as has been posted on SDN many a times .....
Mosby review book , Dental Decks & Old papers (2 J,K,L) ... I think that much is more than enuf to pass.

Exam was not as tough as many people had posted earlier, specially day1. I came out smiling on that day but day 2 was definitely tough & tiring, mainly because pictures & radiographs were not very good. So i was unsure about my answers.

Time spent varies from person to person .... i spent 4 -5 months, coz i have a job too ..... but really got serious in last 2 months. Was studying almost 12 - 13 hours a day at that time.
Hope that helps. All d best.

Congrats and Good Luck 🙂

HI Ashu 76,
Congratulations on your score achievement. Could you please tell us if you used any textbooks for your preparation? Also would it be okay to ask how many times you did the Decks and Mosby etc; I have the 2006 version of the decks for part2. Would they serve the purpose or do I have to buy the newer ones. Thank you in advance.

I'd like 2 request all my friends on SDN to kindly ask me whatever they wish to on d forum & not PM me ......... I keep getting lots of similar questions from lots of people & it gets tough answering them seperately ...... & in d long run it benefits only 1 person. D whole purpose of this forum is to spread information to as many people as possible. So let''s discuss our problems openly & not secretly ...... so that many can benefit & info can really spread.
Thanks.

As per my Part 2 exam, i studied majorly from decks .... must have done them 4 - 5 times ....... studied Mosby & old papers of NBDE Packet 2 J,K,L ..... but did refer text books at times to clear out my doubts ... & wrote pointers on decks so as to revise later on. Isn't that how everyone should study.!!!!

I didn't study anything specially for clinical cases ..... coz it is totally ur clinical knowledge that is required .... cases r going to be new .... so doesn't make any sense doing old cases. Whatever is there in d case history & radiographs, u answer according to that.
Hope this helps. All d best.

hi ashu75,
congratulations for the great score.
i heard that people are getting many questions from implants. is it the same case with you. can you please tell me the good source for studying implants.

thanks in advance.

Hi ENAMEL99 .....
Yes, I did get a few questions of implants ...some on day 1 & some on day 2 in relation to treatment options for certain cases ..... I had read Carl Misch's book on implants during my post graduation ... so i think that knowledge helped me. Its a bigggg book but a very interesting one. U can also refer Rosenstiel for implants, if u want 2 keep it short & sweet.
All d best.

First of all Congratulations!!!
I took PArt 2 on june 2nd and 3th 2009, I got 383 correct items out of 600 ( if you check the total of items per course -op. surgery, etc- the actual total is 600) but my score was 72. I am very dissapointed and planning to audit my results.
My question for you is if you get 397/500 or actually 397/600. This information is really important for me.
Thank you
Santi1504

It should be 397/500, I got 373 and 68 for cases on the second day, if I will add that then it would be 441, don't add that one...

@dr. puri...
PM me if you need them....

I got 397 / 500 ............. All d subjects added give me 397.
If i add 69 of cases on Day 2 i get 466/600.

I have already clarified that in other thread.
Its not that confusing .... i don't know why people keep doing this mistake.

When u add all d subjects, u'll get ur total score ...... subtract the score of clinical cases & u'll get d score u got on day 1.
Hope that clarifies everything.

Hi,

From where did you find the released exam papers 2A to 2I.
I found only J,K and L in ASDA website.
Good luck with your exam!👍

Hi elra,
I purchased a CD online which contains all the material for part 2, it also has question papers from 1979.
my concern is do we need to study that old papers?
