Some PDs I reached out to said I can submit step only instead of comlex. Many programs websites either say u must take step or u must submit comlex OR STEP. I am looking to go into academic IM. I know taking comlex is a graduation requirement but many academic PDs do not care or know about this requirement for DOs. So if I submit STEP scores only instead of COMLEX can I get away with any initial filters and then submit comlex later on in cycle once I secure academic interviews? What are your thoughts on this plan for academic IM programs. For community and more safety spots I plan to release both.

Btw, you can’t choose which programs you release your comlex scores to or don’t. It’s all or nothing.

This is not true. You can assign it to some programs and not others.

Has something changed with ERAS then? This was not the case 5 years ago. There was only one ERAS app and it’s submitted to all programs you applied to.
