PASSED THE INDBE!
Currently Im a 3rd year dental student, took the INDBE on March 19 and 20 2026. I studied for 1 month for this test as I was pretty busy with clinic and some didactic classes at the time, but averaged studying about 3-4 hours a day. It took me the full 4 weeks to get my results back. As far as resources I used to study, I only used Booster Prep (INDBE Booster)
TYPICAL STUDY DAY:
I followed the study schedule made by Booster almost exactly.1-2 hours going over videos1-2 hours on questions (either doing them for the first time or reviewing them)1-2 hours reading over study notes and cheat sheets
TEST PREP:
I took the mock exam 1 week before my test date and reviewed the topics that I struggled with until the day before my test. The day prior was my rest day, ate 3 healthy meals, got plenty of rest, and did some reading of my current book to help keep my mind occupied but not stressed out at the same time. I kept to my normal schedule, woke up at 6am (test started at 8am), had a protein filled breakfast, and did some quick review of the cheat sheets. The type of questions I saw throughout Boosters practice questions were very representative of not only the style of question on the test, but the topics were very high yield as well. There were still a few questions that took me by surprise and I had to dig deep into my brain to remember going over those topics early on in D1, but I would say about 90% of the questions I was well prepared for.
TIPS:
The one thing I wish I did differently was review some of the topics on Boosters question banks and study material on my own a little bit more. I remember Booster emphasizing a handful of pathologies or medications throughout their questions and wish I would have gone over those specific diseases or medications more, as they were very high yield diseases and medications. Study well for the test and build your confidence up and you can pass the INDBE no problem. Good luck!
