after doing a few achiever and bootcamp tests I really really want my real PAT too be similar to CDP :scared:

It will...kind of. CDP cube counting, angle ranking, pattern folding, and hole punching are pretty accurate! Keyholes and TFE are more challenging on the real DAT compared to CDP. Don't worry!

i was scoring 18-20 on CDP for the last 5 tests or so...

got 17 in bootcamp on test 1 & 15 and 16 in achiever :scared:

ahah i feel you bro... I'm averaging around a 20-22ish on CDP and got a 18 on the bootcamp test ;(

Don't rely on CDP. Saying this from experience.

I had a false sense of security with CDP, walked into the exam thinking it would be a SURE 20, and I walked out with a 17.

From what I am reading now, definitely try mastering Achiever and Bootcamp.

Hope this helps!

The real PAT is much more difficult. I was getting 26-28 on CDP (depending on how lucky I got with angle ranking) with a couple of minutes to spare, and on the real thing I ran out of time and got a 24.

If you aren't already doing this, I think you should time yourself on each section of the PAT. That way you can increase your speed with the sections that are relatively easier. For me, I was able to go through angles, cube counting, and hole punching averaging 5-6 minutes on each section. This gave me just enough time on the actual exam to go back over the keyholes, TFE, and pattern folding problems that I wasn't 100% sure about. Just like the rest of the DAT, make sure you don't spend too much time on 1 problem. Like many have said before, you are more likely to get an easy problem right when you have the time, versus trying to answer any remaining problem with a limited amount of time. I used Kaplan to sort of introduce me to what each section was about and a few CDP tests to actually find out a method that I liked to use for each section. I probably got lucky when I got a 21 on the DAT last year, but it was manageable. Confidence is key!
