My school just dropped our Patagonia merch. I am interested in the classic Better Sweater vest or jacket. I was wondering if anyone has major pros/cons of the vest vs the jacket to help me decide which one to get?
For context, I go to a school in the Northwest with a pretty typical four season cycle (snow in the winter, rain in the spring, hot in the summer, chilly in the fall). There will be another sale next year but I just want to start with one item this year.

I go to a school where by definition you don't need it (somewhere sunny and warm) but I always recommend the jacket. You can do the vest if you like but the jacket is very warm and comfy

If you plan to wear it outside only: jacket.

If you plan to wear it inside a lot as well: vest. I remember seeing a lot of surgery and medicine residents/attendings that wore a vest over their scrubs during the day. You could wear a jacket also, but might get too warm if wearing it inside the whole day.

If you're placing an arterial line, you could probably do it with the vest still on. Jacket? not as good of an idea probably.
