Hello everyone. Just wondering if anybody has an idea about the job market for pathology in Puerto Rico. Any ideas regarding salary for a pathologist in Puerto Rico? The island is a US territory, and there are at least 3 accredited medical schools in the island. Thank you.

my guess having applied and interviewed at a few Caribbean locations:
the number of jobs is quite low.
the amount of turnover is extraordinarily low.
the amount of money the old guard is willing to pay people to attract them to desirable locations is super low.

PR according to the CIA has a pop of roughly 4 million total residents. PR also has a much lower rate of insured people interested in healthcare than the mainland so lets call that 4 mil = to 3.5 mil in the States.
3,500,000/ 50,000 residents per pathologist = 70 pathologists, roughly needed.

Go found how many they have right now. If that number is much much lower than 70, then you may have a shot!
