SoCalRULES!!!!! said:why did you choose path when in path you are looking at 200k on average per year and in rads you can make 800k a year at any moderately busy community practice group.
Even if you find path more interesting, is it really worth giving up 600 k a year?
clearly not you.yaah said:Which one of us is the evil one?
DasN said:If what you are truly interested in making big cash, dont go into medicine. As far as comparing path and rads salaries, thats irrelevant. Both careers allow ample time ( vs. general surgery ect) to pursue other business ventures on the side as well as provide a good base pay. If you really want to make money youre going to have to supplement your income with another venture, instead of waiting for that 1 in a million job that pays 900K. Also keep in mind that compensation for each specialty can and do change over time ( more recently going toward the downside) The most IMPORTANT idea here is that you cannot choose a specialty based on the average pay. A job may pay great but if you dread going to work everyday you will eventually have to ask yourself if it was worth it. Be happy if you are able to find something that you know you will love doing, even if its for the next 30 yrs. You can't put a price on that.
