I need to pass the NBME and learn best from watching lectures. Pathoma is the perfect example. What is the "pathoma's" of the other basic science sections? I have exactly 4 months left so need to find a video resource(s) that will allow me to finish in a timely manner. I have had an incredibly difficult time reading through FirstAid. As I mentioned, I learn best from watching online videos- it's much easier for me to move through the material and retain it as compared to just reading a book. I am assuming part of the reason for this is that most our lectures are video recorded and that's just what I am used to doing.

My plan is to finish the videos and then complete UWorld q bank. Some background info- I am a dental student applying for Oral Surgery. My dental school is not in with the medical school but we still got a fairly strong basic science education. However, with that said, there are still a lot of gaps and I am basically trying to relearn everything plus fill in the gaps. I am also studying concurrently with dental school classes and clinic/rotations so can put in a max of 4hrs per day. Suggestions/comments/advice/wisdom is greatly appreciated. Thank you. 👍

Doctors in Training might be your answer. Some people describe it as them reading first aid to you, which I think is a bit dramatic. I like it because they have you do warm up questions to review stuff you've already learned, and end of session quizzes to help solidify the info. They also have good pneumonics. You start with part 1 and primers (things they consider high yield or tough topics), and then 45 days out you start part 2 which covers everything. I think part to is ~287 ~20 minute lectures, so 4 hours a day is probably adequate. If you put DIT in the the search function on here you can see a ton of different people's opinions on it.

The OP says he is trying to "relearn everything"

I don't DIT is a good solution for that as it is a review course. I really don't think there is anything like Pathoma for relearning/learning things fresh.

Thanks everyone. My buddy has the Kaplan Center Prep videos that he's going to give me. Tried searching the forums but can't find any recent info on it. Ever hear of them?

Kaplan center prep videos are same old 2009/2010 videos with the green background. Nothing new added in the center.

are the videos any good? My friend said they are pretty comprehensive so that would be good except he also said I may not be able to get through them all + UWorld

Yeah those videos can take time especially if you will doing them with the lecture notes. But Kaplan prep either live or center, are probably one of the most comprehensive review for step 1. If you need to brush up on basic sciences overall or for a particular subject thoroughly then Kaplan is where you would want to start then do FA and Uworld. You should get the videos and either pdfs or the physical copies of the lecture notes (books) and follow it with the videos.

heard about becker's review series. not sure if anyone else can shed light on that.

Becker was known formerly as Falcon review and this is where Dr. Goljan used to (I think he retired now) do a live lecture after he left Kaplan prep. Depending on the time have you can't go wrong with either Kaplan or Becker because they both cover everything we need for step 1.
