I think they may actually have, because I didn't even get waitlisted at UCSF, and I'm in-state...
But who knows?
I think I didn't give off the impression of being CERTAIN I want to do medicine, because in all of them when they asked "why do you want to be a doctor?" I answered that I came to it from psychology and research angles. So this time around, my answer will be different.
What did you answer to that ultimate of questions?

I'm still trying to formulate an answer. Right now all I got is that I have some existential feeling deep in my gut that it is the right thing for me to do.
You can't just tell them that medicine is what "fits"? I've always been willing to help people and I can also give them my families medical history too.
I'm sure it's not unique, but we've had several heart surgeries and they weren't for the old people. They were operated on when my brothers were younger. And plus my brother was severely mentally and physically handicapped so I've got a lot of experienced dealing with those things. Though that probably won't be any helpful.

I'm getting there slowly but surely. I think I'll go to Costa Rica next summer. Plenty of surf and hopefully some hot girls.
And warm water is a must. I surfed in Mexico and the water was freezing ass cold. I felt like I was in Kentucky during the dead of winter.
It didn't help that my wetsuit was one size too big. So water kept leaking in everytime I paddled my arms.
I still got some good barrels though. However, it was scary surfing in a new place when there were no crowds there.
I think I'm going to bone up on my grammar this next semester. I gotta figure the rules for prepositions and conjunctions.
Anyway, going back several pages to the language discussion I was having with myself. I think I'm going to learn Spanish and Italian. I took Spanish in high school so hopefully it will be more of a refresher.
Plus, I can take the online Rosetta stone courses. I've started Italian and it doesn't seem that hard so far. I think it will get a lot harder when they move to sentences. Right now it's just all single words.
I'm going to have to stop or at least slow down when school starts though. At least until I figure out the best way to organize my time.
You know, I was looking around at some people and I have no idea how they go to 500 or 1k posts in just a month. That takes some serious posting.

I just took this ridiculous exam yesterday. I have nothing to do until 9:00 am when my next module starts. Does that count?
