I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm sure it's not the first time they saw a sunburn. And, unless you are willing to walk around like I think it was "it" on the Adam's family, they will recognize it as a sunburn very quickly.

In small doses maybe. Good source of Vit D, but only need about 5 minutes on hands and face every day for that to suffice.
