Does anyone have any advice on how to best get patients for the boards? My husband will be taking SRTA in Richmond, VA (but we live in Arkansas) and don't know anyone in VA? Any advice? Are there any companies you can pay to find you patients? Thanks

Sometimes the sponsoring dental school will have a pool of patients to choose from. You need to contact that institution to find out.

VCU and SRTA won't provide you with patients. You will have to provide them your own. No patients = no approval!! I was lucky because I was able to scan my patient load at the dental school. But I had to drive them from out of state and also put them up at a fancy hotel for a couple of nights! I even took them out for a nice dinner afterwards. But it was all worth it! When you apply to sit SRTA in Richmond, SRTA/VCU will send you an info package that will contain the dates when you can come into the VCU dental school to take radiographs and screen potential patients (you need to make an appointment to use the facility and pay for x-ray use). Unless you have a family friend who could let you use their clinic facility in Arkansas to screen patients, you really don't have much chance. Good luck.
