Pattern Folding

Just a question. When you're looking at the pattern are you allowed to fold upwards, towards you, and down wards (away from the screen). are you allowed to do both or just one of them?

if I understand your question correctly I think you are allowed to do both--you can either fold it toward you or away from you

either way is allowed only it depends on the type of folding you are looking out

really?? I thought it's only allowed to fold away from you, like you're wrapping a gift, or at least that's what kaplan and barron say
