Anyone in a PBL based program? Is it legit? I hate just sitting through lectures and feel I would learn more using PBL if my understanding of it is correct. In undergrad I learned more from my biology case studies than all of my lectures combined and I feel PBL is similar to that?

LECOM boasts above average scores, so they must be doing something right.

When I sat in on a PBL session, I was actually quite impressed. Although I knew what the diagnosis was as soon as the initial details were unveiled, the process of eliminating other possibilities and learning what labs/tests to order and how to interpret them was kind of fun.

I would imagine PBL would be similar. Fact is, it works for some and not for others, just the same as lectures... its up to you to make that choice based on your learning style.
