Hello everyone.
I am new to this forum. i have recently started to study for my pcats. The biology is freaking me out. i took general biology about 4 years ago and dont remember anything from it. i have been reading the kaplan bio section, and for some reason nothing sticks with me. does anyone have any suggestions for me? do you guys think i should get a bio textbook and read it instead of the kaplan book? because i feel like the kaplan book is for people who know at least some bio. this stuff all seems new to me.
Thanks.

No, do not get the textbook and read it because that will consume most your time. Rather you can use the cliffs AP biology book. That was a good book for me. It pretty much covered most of what biology is and a great reference. While I'm at it I'll just tell you what I used to study. I used cliffs AP Biology, PCAT Destroyer, Cliffs 5 PCAT exams, Barrons PCAT exams (I think waste of time), and what was really helpful was the tests that harcourt offers.
Good Luck!

Biology text books are too in depth. I read, highlighted, and annotated each Biology section, and then I went back and took notes on everything. But that how I learn and memorize things by writing them down.

for hartcourts practical tests, when is a good time to take it? before you review the bio section or after you done reviewing?
