hey everybody,

I am registered for the august PCAT and I have about 2 months to study for the exam. I bought the Kaplan PCAT book and the reading comprehension/verbal ability don't seem to tough. However, the chemistry and biology section i am a little shaky on, so I was hoping if there any other books I can use to study and improve my score. I heard people say Dr. Collins is great but i cant afford the $325 self study guide nor go to the class meetings. Any recommendations would be nice.

Also is 2 months enough time to study (certain number of hours each day, I got laid off from my job, so I have a lot of free time). Any websites that make me learn the basic ochem and calculus needed for the PCAT (I am trying to get 85 composite and at least 70 overall on each subject).

I think you have plenty of time to study.Kaplin is one of the best resources. Other than that if you are looking for free there are a few sites you can google that will give more questions for biology and chemistry that you can review. I would also go through your old textbooks. They are great resources for reviewing. Make notes of key subjects or things you want to go back over in more depth.

you could always buy Dr. Collin's study guide from this site for a much cheaper price (most of them around ~130). look into the ads section.

Thanks for the replies guys. Did anybody take the Pearson or find it helpful. I heard its the closest thing to the actual PCAT. any other books that could help me get me a 85 composite?

I would take the pearson for the practice. Set yourself up the same way yo would for the test, give yoruself a few hours to take it and time yourself on the sections. Part of taking the test is beating the test.
