When did you guys take the PCAT if you decided to get your Bachelor's and then apply to pharmacy school? I know for med school you have to sort of finish the MCAT by the summer of your junior year. Is that how it works for pharmacy school as well?

People take the PCAT at all stages of academia.

I took the PCAT after merely completing the pharmacy pre-requisites whereas the majority of my class finished their bachelor's. On the other end of the spectrum a fellow class-mate of mine already has a doctorate.

There are benefits to waiting, and benefits to getting it out of the way.

The benefits of waiting longer is to find out if other industries/fields are more suitable for you (in terms of money, happiness, job satisfaction). Too many go into Pharmacy without really knowing the stress Pharmacists have to go through especially retail. Making the right choice before you sign the deal with the devil (100K in loans) is enough to have you thinking.

What are the benefits of waiting longer?

Not only what is stated above, but waiting also gives you more depth in understanding the concepts that are tested on the PCAT if you choose a relevant degree to pursue in the mean time. However, the test is geared towards the courses that you take initially (obviously) so it could be argued that having the answers fresh in your mind can be beneficial.

Personally, my motivation was not wasting any time in between HS and licensing.

I havent take Organic chemistry yet. SHould I take PCAT worrying. The deadline for 2016 approaching.

when is the PCAT deadline for texas A& M ? can find the deadline. Do we have to submit PCAT together with application or we can wait later
