hey! I'm going to be a first year at PCO and some second year students asked me to room with them. Do current PCO students suggest it's better to room with first years since you will be going through the same stuff or it shouldn't matter in the long run? Also, they want me to sign a 18 month lease instead of a year. If I did that, would be relatively easy for me to find new roommates in December? haha, any advice is appreciated. 🙂

I'm also going to be a PCO first year. I'm obviously in the same situation as you, but I suggest rooming with a fellow first year. I'm going to be getting a 3 BR with two other first year guys. I think it will be better to room with other first years so you can help each other out. It's also probably easier to make friends that way. Why do they want you to sign an 18 month lease instead of a year? That sounds kinda strange...

18 months cuz that's the time they have left at PCO, cuz they want to move back home for their externships the last year and a half...daysend...which building are you moving into? have u started looking yet?

ok...makes sense. i don't know how the classes and externships and all that stuff is run at PCO yet. i haven't really checked into it, but at the same time, PCO hasn't exactly given me a lot of information. hopefully, some things will come in the mail in the next few weeks. i'm still waiting for financial info.

as far as places and roommates, nothing has been confirmed yet. i'm still talking with some people. the one guy is in i think but i'm not sure about the other one. i'm pretty sure we're settled on a 3 BR/2 BA at Brookview if it is available. it's not the cheapest place around but isn't all that bad if you split the rent with 3 people. and...it's a lot better than Colonade and Regency Park since it's much newer.

if you need any help, let me know...i checked out several of the places near PCO (i avoided places in philly) and can tell you what to expect.

I like the looks of Brookview compared to other places out there.
I'm a 1st year, looking for a roomate if anyone is still searching you can PM me.
I was going to try and go it alone but you can get a nicer place for the same money if you room with someone.
I'm looking forward to PCO but the housing situation in Philly is very expensive .
