HEY GUYS! i have an interview at salus on the 26th of january! i live in california and so i have to fly out there. i'm not really sure how I should go about this since it's my first time. do I book a hotel room or should i try to find a student there? oy. lol i'm clueless but very excited! any advice would be helpful. thanks <3

OMG! I have an interview there on the 27th. I am from northern california.
My advice would be to call PCO and asked for the closest most convenient hotel near the university. Perhaps they would have deals for incoming students. Or do what i do and just google the surrounding area for a hotel and ask for deals.
Good luck and perhaps we'll cross paths.

I just made my interview for next friday the 14th, So I will let you know what I figure out. I think that i will pry stay in the hotel at the airport, price depending, then catch the city transit to the school. The admission dept said that from the train drop off its a 2 block walk to the school. cheaper than a taxi, which is 70 bucks approx, and the train is 7. Let me know anything you find out , please! and GOOD LUCK!

I went in the middle of Dec. and I took the train from the airport which cost 10bucks to my hotel at the holiday inn in fort washington.
432 West Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Washington, Pennsylvania

The next day the hotel offered a free shuttle to the school for my interview. After interview I had a friend that lived there so he picked me up and pretty much checked out the city but you can just get a taxi after your interview. THe school is pretty nice, rec was nice as well, wasn't too impressed with teh clinic due to construction. (this was my last interview, I had 3 other interview before PCO so I'v seen nicer clinics). The only downside of going to PCO for me is tuition and cost of living!! If I stay instate I could save 80G's and looking at places to stay around PCO seems really old and outdated. I did see some really nice apartments but they were wayy to expensive. I have a couple of days to make a decision. Anywayz just go over interview feedback and other basic interview questions and just be yourself!
Good luck!

I am also from California and went to salus for an interview!

This is what i did... you don't need to do it, but worked great for me!

Left San Diego CA day before interview in the morning, got to Philly at about 7pm philly time. Rented a car with GPS and drove to hotel (hotels.com). Then checked in to hotel and then left stuff at hotel and drove to school. I did a drive by at night time to get an idea of where it is and whats around it. Then Got me a philly cheese steak! Went back to hotel and got a good night sleep at 11:30pm.

Woke up early...checked out of hotel...went to interview...did the best i could. Drove to airport and return car rental to airport Alamo rent a car. Flight left at 6pm philly time, got back to San Diego CA. midnight CA time.

Week later... i got in!

Do whatever works for you... that worked for me!
Hope to see you in August!
Any questions let me know.

Good luck to you and everyone else!

There will be other students with you (I had two others in my group) during the day in terms of going through the "opening meeting", financial aid talk, school tour and lunch. But the actual interview is one on one, where each student had a different interviewer (I had a clinical instructor as my interviewer). Very laid back interview, they ask you a list of questions from a sheet of paper (8x13) and take notes of what you answer. Definitely look over the questions in the interview feedback and you'll be all set for the interview.

Hey guys! I've got an interview in April, and I was wondering if there was any kind of consensus out there for the best hotel to stay at and the best way to get to the school on the day of the interview.

After searching online and around on the forums I see that it's best to stay in a hotel close to the airport, and then on the day of the interview take a complimentary shuttle from the hotel to the school, or go back to the airport and take the train to the Jenkinstown station (2 blocks from the school apparently). Does anyone know which other hotels other than the one mentioned above offer this shuttle service? I'm thinking the best thing for me is to go to a hotel where they offer this shuttle service and then just take the train back to the airport after the interview. I'm planning on going to Philly alone, and the most straightforward (but affordable) method of travel will work best for me since I tend to get lost easily lol. Thanks!

Hey. I recently had an interview with Salus at PCO. The Holiday Inn is the hotel with the complementary shuttle AND breakfast 🙂 (Non-continental breakfast at that! hee hee : )...). If you look on the "Visit Us" section on the PCO website, you will find a link to nearby hotels listed. There on the bottom of the page, you will see the Holiday Inn. It's located about 7 miles from PCO. From the airport, you can take a train called Septa that'll take you (with a trasfer..about $10 total) right behind the hotel. Just tell the guys coming off the train where you want to go and they'll tell you. Then the hotel will take you from there to PCO and pick you up to take you back to the hotel. From the hotel again, you can take the train back to the airport and you're headed home sweet home! Good luck on that interview! 🙂. God bless.

Thank you! I feel less nervous after reading this 🙂

Priceline.com (the bidding option) is your friend. Was able to stay at a 4* hotel for 70$ in downtown philly. Train ride from downtown philly to the school was not very long either.
