Accepted 12/8 via snail mail. Don't get discouraged, remember it is a new school and they have twice the pressures of an established school (i.e. building, enrollment, communicating with PCOM- Philly). You may still hear something soon.

Some have gotten their acceptances via email, so it's probably a safe bet that if we haven't heard anything by now, we didn't get in. Go figure.

I'm in for the first class of 80!

email on 12/13 with letter to follow.

Texas here, where y'all from?

What do you think about the rotations? Sounds like some could be a good distance away (like Augusta). I know some will be local.

I know there are more than three of us. Where are you GA PCOMers?

For those of you guys who were accepted, I was just wondering if you are willing to post your numbers. If not, I fully understand. I just recently got my primary application in (I know it is probably to late 👎 ) and live about 15 minutes from the campus. Imagine my surprise to hear they were establishing a school right near my permanent address 👍 . Naturally this school is one of my top picks for DO schools. If you guys have any questions about the area or directions etc. just let me know. Congrads on getting accepted!

I think we need to face our fate, pratik. I'm sure they've been so busy trying to get those acceptance letters out, they haven't really made time to send out rejections/waitlists.

I just called (at 8:20AM!) and waiting for her to call back...

Just hold in there. I think you might be happily surprised. It may take a while but hold in there.

We shall see. It's been over two hours since I called; maybe they haven't made a decision yet on a few of us. (Although people who interviewed AFTER me have heard).

Such an odd situation.

orthofixation,
remind me again when you interviewed please...
mine was last monday (12/6). I'd really like to hear back one way or another before I send my deposit somewhere else...

did anybody just get a snail mail and no email first?

curious....

Andrea

JKDMED, hope you get a nice birthday present.

happy birthday man, and good luck to you.

Orthofix,

Congrats. Looking forward to meeting you. Let me know if you will be coming to Atlanta to scope out the area, we can meet up. Same goes for you Biosail.

BMW

Congrats Ortho Fix!
Yeah, we'll definitely all have to get together beforehand, maybe when they invite us to see the school. BMW19, I think we're going in May when my parents come back from the Philippines to visit.

I forgot who asked this, but I received my acceptance snail mail. JKDMed said they should be sending out more today, good luck to all of you!

And, Happy Bday JKDMed! Cheer up, I'm sure they wouldn't have interviewed you so early if you didn't have a good chance of getting in.

Thanks all for the happy b-days. I'm getting the impression they're not going to call me back. 😀

Gonna wait for the mail to come and if nothing is in it this time, I'm calling them back. I need to know something so I can start to figure out where to go from here. It concerns me that they're not in a big hurry to notify a few of us.

Hopefully I'll be meeting up with you guys in the near future. :luck:

Happy Birthday! I suspect that they got distracted as often does happen. I seem to be bad in that sort of way as of late. I can't focus for more than two minutes it seems. Oh well, probably the holidays!

Well, I just got off the phone with them.

I really hate this process because of all the bull****ting people do; you can't get a straight answer from anyone about anything.

They said more letters were going out today, and that they couldn't tell me over the phone. Supposedly the admissions director doesn't have access to that information (haha) I got the impression it's bad news and they just won't say.

I think it's pretty obvious what is going on. People whose letters are also going out today were notified of an acceptance by email yesteryday, just in time to make the deposit deadline. Obviously, there's no motivation to notify those of us who were not accepted, so we're left in the dark until we get the letter. It's HIGHLY unlikely they emailed some accepted folks and not others.

Someone should call and ask for those of us who haven't heard anything. Tell them you know people who haven't received their letters yet, but were notified of an acceptance by email. Ask them that if you haven't heard anything by now, you weren't accepted.

Update: I had someone call for me to ask what I pointed out above, and they weren't given a straight answer. Only the, "lettesr are going out Today" garbage. You can kinda guess what that means.

Here's to applyling next year. I'm outta here. Peace.

I just got an email for an interview on jan. 10, any pointers people would like to share would be greatly appreciated. Also, for anyone who just got an acceptance, what kinds of stats are they taking if you don’t mind? I would like to know roughly what my chances are. Thanks.

I don't think there are any pointers for interviews. My interview was awesome, and I still didn't get in. Just be yourself.

With that, I'm going to get smashed.

I am confused, did you get rejected or you just think that you did? From what I read, you called and they did not tell you anything. By the way, Dec. 15th deadline means nothing because there are other deadlines for the deposit, so maybe it is better that you do not have to worry about the deposit.

I'm assuming I wasn't accepted based on one thing: people who interviewed almost two weeks after I did, whose letters are going out with mine today, were notified of their acceptances via email yesterday. Obviously, the school is notifying these people before the deposit deadline tomorrow so they can make a decision. People who weren't accepted have no reason to be notified before tomorrow.

I'm positive this is the case. If I do end up getting an acceptance letter in the mail without prior notification (which I won't and neither will anyone else on SDN) I'll strip naked and run down the street while flailing a rubber chicken.

I looked at your stats, and do not see much reasons why you would not be accepted, maybe you are waitlisted, there is always that possibility. Just hang in there, you may still get good news shortly. this is an irrational and very unpredictable process.

I don't know, maybe I am waitlisted. I made a point in my interview to talk about my much-improved science GPA this semester, and my expected grade in physics II (they asked about my low PS MCAT). I'm HOPING at the very least they waitlisted me to see if I was being honest or not.

My grades were posted yesterday and are now on my transcript. My BCPM GPA went from a 3.17 when I applied to a 3.31. My GPA this semester is a 3.77, including an A in physics II. All I'd need to do to get off a waitlist is update my transcript, mail a LOI, and send the two LORs I didn't send when I applied (I saved those for a reason!)

Of course, they may not give a damn and may have just rejected me. I really can't imagine being rejected after how well the interview went.

😕

let them know about the improved GPA ASAP, do not wait untill people at AACOMAS make their moves, a letter of intent may not be a bad thing about now, it will not hurt you anyways.

from what I understand, not everyone got an email prior to an acceptance in the mail. I am being tortured by your torture... I really don't think that other schools care about a 12/15 deadline.. I'm not sure I even know of this deadline... each school has a deadline based on when they interviewed you (if I'm not mistaken) soooo... the only way you'd have a 12/15 deadline is if you interviewed on 11/15. I have a 12/17 deadline... I too am anxious to hear something.. yes or no.. at least more final than what I've heard (nothing).. I tried to call, but refuse to leave messages on machines for something like this. I will wait until Thursday's mail comes and then send my deposit to the other school.. which was my first choice prior to going to Atlanta... right now they are about equal with maybe Atlanta having a slight edge.

my advice to you.. go out, enjoy your birthday and for all of us.. stop torturing yourself... 🙂

take care!

This is true, but Dr. Evans was pretty adamant about telling people the results before Dec 15. The emails didn't start until Monday, for people who won't hear anything by postal mail before the 15th.

Thus, my conclusion that since I and many others didn't get an email Monday, we were not accepted; no reason to let people know who didn't get in.

When my "agent" called to ask if people who haven't heard anything by now didn't get in, they refused to reply and just repeated that, "letters are going out on Tuesday, both acceptances and rejection". We all know what, "no comment" usually means.

If I do get an acceptance letter (which I won't), I'll post a naked picture of myself in the Lounge.

Happy Birthday JKD. I'm rootin' for ya... In the meantime, get off here for a day and go celebrate your birthday!

I just got accepted with an email yesterday, 12/13 and I interviewed on the 11th.

Biosailgirl, I interviewed on Sat 12/11.

Bigbassinbob: Congrat's to you 👍. Since there were only two men other than myself, I can narrow you down. Did you interview in the second or third round on Saturday? I was second round and was in the conference room in the office.

I was the last one interviewed! My interview was upstairs in the conference room as well. It's good to know we may be classmates next year. If I recall correctly, you were also accepted to Nova. Which school are you planning on at this point?

27/3.8 and interviewed on nov 20th...havent heard back :scared:

Seems like just about everyone who interviewed got accepted. I'm going to be super pissed if I wasn't at least waitlisted. What are the ****ing odds of getting rejected from PCOM-GA? I guess someone has to take the fall so the school doesn't look like a pushover in admissions ... glad they choose me for that. 🙄

Are they not excepting 80 students? Of the students that are active on this website, there have only been three that posted that they were accepted. Just relax JKDMed. I know its hard. I think at the very least you will be waitlisted, if not accepted. At least you got an interview.

Do any of you guys have any idea about the number of interviews that will be granted? I think I heard it was about 200 out of 1000 applicants.

I mean 'ACCEPTING' ! 😛

JKDMed,

You have to chill out buddy. You are going to drive yourself nuts! Like the previous poster said, you don't know anything yet. If you are like this now, you will rip your hair out in med school!! I didn't get waitlisted from Nova last year until February. This is a long process. Relax now and save the stress for med school.

not everyone.. I'm still waiting also.. I interviewed on 12/6... who knows at this point.. I guess if they sent out rejections also then we will know one way or another here pretty soon... it will probably take at least 2 days to get mail from GA to me (NC).. so maybe I'll hear something tomorrow.

I will post if I find anything out.

in the meantime... worrying/stressing about all of this isn't going to do you any good.. go out and enjoy yourself.. do some holiday shopping... whatever you do for fun.. I actually was sucessful in forgetting about it for several hours tonight.. decorating christmas trees and shopping... distraction is good!

It's possible that, for some reason, they only sent emails to the people who interviewed this weekend. Maybe their letters aren't being mailed this week? Mine certainly wasn't mailed the following Tuesday, but they didn't have a decision then either. Maybe they are? Maybe I'm right? The only thing missing from my theory is someone who did not interview on 12/11 and received an email this week. If someone pops in and says otherwise, then I'm right.

*shrug*

I wouldnt be worrying so much. I know that DO schools arnt all about the #'s but look what kind of stats Pratik7 just posted. Those are good stats for even some MD schools, and he said he had not heard anything either, so dont worry until you get the letter.

I just want to see if my avatar worked...

3.85/30, NC resident. I think most of the people they are interviewing are from the surrounding states, but I've heard of a few from Texas as well.

I'm interviewing on Jan. 7th. Any others out there coming to Atlanta that day?

Hey!
I know BMW19 and I have sent in deposits, what about bigbassinbob and orthofixation? Have you guys made decisions yet?

jk, that sucks. try to find out why. don't give up dude.

a couple more points on the mcat, you'll waltz into any DO school you want. whats a year? nothing. many of us have taken our sweet time before going to DO school. im almost 2 years out of undergrad and im still one of the young ones.

just keep at it man. you'll get in.

JKDMed, I am really sorry too. Too bad... Don't give up though.. It won't be the end of the world, if you wait one year.. Get a few points more on PS and you will be all set! BTW, reapplying shows perseverance and med schools take that into account as well.
I agree with PublicEnemy.. I took almost 2 years off after undergrad as well, I don't regret it and I am still on young side . I am now more ready for med school than I was 2 years ago. Keep your chin up!!! 🙂

dude, you may want to set up a mock interview with someone at your school. if you've had 2 interviews and 2 rejections to DO schools, odds are you are somehow botching the interview. I only applied/accepted to 1 DO school with a 25 mcat, and they told us that if they invite you to an interview, then academically you are fine. by the way, I am 5 years out of undergrad, enjoy your youth.

I don't think so; nothing stands out as being really bad. In fact, the interview for PCOM went very well.

Jk, I know we've had our differences but I really want to offer my condolences & encouragement. And congratulations on your pending nupitals.
A few things to consider:
1. You're young
2. You're obviously bright
3. You came very close this time around
4. You live in the land of opportunity

So this time really show them what you can do on the MCAT.
After the MCAT focus on courses that will most directly help you in Med school. Stuff like A&P, biochem, genetics, developemental bio, histology, neuroscience, immunology etc.
If you have time another great thing to do is become an EMT.
Finally, you have your health, your youth, a new bride to be, & you really do live in the land of opportunity. 👍
